The Floating House, a first of its kind, is located on Dongshan Island in Fujian Province.

When one says “dream house,” what exactly is the accepted level of that dream? One sees it in a spacious house in nature and the other in a luxurious canal house. But dream homes can be found much further, including in the middle of the ocean.

Dream Villa in the middle of the ocean

Why on the ocean? This question can be answered by the man in charge of the only floating place of shelter in China, albeit with minimal capacity. A Chinese entrepreneur dreamed of a house by the sea and, together with a good friend and architect Dong Xinmeng, turned it into astonishing reality.

The entrepreneur spent his younger days fishing and sailing and developed an irreplaceable bond with the sea early on. The floating island is the result of this affection, which takes its inspiration from the floating rafts that local fishermen use for longer stays on the water.

The floating house, a first of its kind, is located on Dongshan Island in Fujian Province. It is literally an oasis completely secluded from the hustle and bustle and chaos of the world about 500 meters from the coast. As seen in the photos and video, the floating house is surrounded on all sides by water. It took the entrepreneur about $ 61,000 to build and more than a year of crafting hours.

The structure houses sliding glass doors on all sides for panoramic views. Upon entering, you first notice a spacious living room, which also immediately serves as a spacious dining room and kitchen. The two ends of the house have a large guest bedroom with its own bathroom that opens out to large terraces. A perfect place for fishing, sunbathing and all remaining seaside activities.

This secluded retreat is made of materials such as steel for the structure and lots of glass to enjoy the breathtaking views. The roof is acid and rust resistant. The deck has weather resistant floors and is flanked by comfortable seating areas.
