When aliens intercept video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack Earth, using the games as models. Knowing that he must employ a similar strategy, President Will Cooper (Kevin James) recruits his childhood pal, former video-game champ and home-theater installer Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), to lead a team of old-school arcade players and a military specialist (Michelle Monaghan) in an all-out battle to save the planet.
The movie is based on the real life events of Ralph Sarchie, a New York cop who meets a Castilian priest when he is pulled into a case which the priest convinces him, against the officer's religious beliefs, is demonically related. Together, they work to solve the case and combat paranormal forces working against them. The two exorcise a powerful demon from a man who is now the sole survivor of a small group of marines who became possessed in a cave in Iraq. The film concludes with Ralph and his family and friends gathered for Ralph's newborn child's christening—performed by the same priest who helped Ralph. It is made known that later Ralph quits the police force and begins working with the priest against evil.
Denzel is back, with the same director of films such as Training Day and Olympus Has Fallen. This film is about a quiet man who meets a young prostitute who is dictated by the russian mafia, and through this he becomes very upset of what they are doing to her/treating her and he decides to fix this. This movie has some gory scenes here and there, but turns out to be a pretty good action movie overall. Our opinion "The Equalizer" is the hit it should be, it will give this veteran action star his very first movie franchise. In the sequel, Denzel-McCall could make things right in Ukraine as Obama’s Secretary of Defense and one-man army.
