Olivier Clincke (24) works for Replay Events. And he is been active in events and nightlife for over 5 years. His biggest passion besides nightlife are cars so he is also a die-hard Runball Rally driver once a year!
Badchix: Hows it going?
The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I’m hearing some great tunes in the background. All is well I would say.
Badchix: So, Ster Fest, huh? What exactly do you do there?
Well, I’m actually founder and head of organisation for Sterfest. The visitors will probably not see me because I’m very busy backstage getting everything in order. Solving minor problems, meeting and greeting the artists, coordinating with my on-site managers, security, police, first-aid and fire department.
Badchix: What did you decide to host own events?
Image sitting around with your friends talking about having a poker night, going to an amusement park, going paint-balling or something like that. There is always one person that actually makes the effort to get the reservations in order, invite everyone, do the accounting and just gets everyone where they need to be. I’ve always been that person and the parties just kept getting bigger.
Badchix: Do you enjoy your job ?
I absolutely love my job, but let’s be honest, there are many days you just hate nightlife and you dream about a regular 9-to-5 job. On the other side, there are many days and moments that you will never forget. Nightlife is awesome because everyone is always prettier and more outgoing than in daily life.
Badchix: What’s something exciting that you haven’t done yet that you hope to eventually do?
I’ve got many milestones that I really want to reach, but the absolute dream is to own an event center/hall. I’ve got a really good spot picked out where I want to build my own building and host many great parties. Of course, the sky is the limit and I’m working very hard to grow.
Badchix: What makes SterFest different and unique ?
The location is unique, we’re centered between Ghent, Antwerp and Hulst (NL) on a perfectly preserved domain. We’ve got a large beach with a really nice lake next to open grass-fields. There’s so much potential to really make this a big success. We just want to be that festival where you have the time of your life while dancing on the sand with the sun shining on your face. We’ve worked really hard on this first edition, especially on infrastructure. Everything has been designed by myself and it’s just awesome to see it all come to life.
Badchix: A question we ask all our guests, If you were homeless, what would your cardboard sign have written on it?
Ha! Good question. I guess it would say: “I’m a dreamer and my dreams need coin.” But most of all, I’m just happy not to be homeless.
Badchix: A girl is about to buy you a drink at the bar, what would you like?
It really depends on the mood I am in. I’m known for my love for drinking. I will drink anything from Goose, Vodka, Rhum, 43, Malibu, Champagne and the occasional sparkling water. Just don’t offer me Gin & Tonic, I’m not a fan.
Badchix: Can you give us your thought of the day, and any advice to people out there chasing a dream, whether it be acting, modeling, sports or music?
I work 365 days a year, there isn’t a day that goes by that I haven’t done anything to further my dream. Everything in life that I do can all be linked back to my business and making it bigger and better. Be certain that someday you will pass a milestone on your way to the next, have your goals laid out for you and keep walking. Don’t mind the rough terrain, believe and you will succeed.
