Cameraman Bradley Ambrose has a close call with falling lava projected from the Marum lava lake on Ambrym Island as he films within metres of the edge. The splatter lands around him, hitting his camera gear and himself. Lava bombs and lapilli have been measured between 600-800 degrees celsius at this volcano. To get this close to the lava lake involves a 300-400m rappel inside the crater.
